The Way That I Sing

A tip of the hat to the Jacket
On the heels of last year's internet-only tribute album to My Morning Jacket, The Way That He Sings: The Fans Sing My Morning Jacket, the original organizers are at it again! A second volume is in the early planning stages, and I've been confirmed as a contributor with the song "The Way That He Sings" (a song which remained unspoken-for until now). Basic home-recorded tracks for this were laid down in late 2004 in Long Beach, with the final augmentations and mixes to happen within the next month in Anaheim. The projected release date for this project looks to be sometime in mid-July 2005. Check back for more updates...
In the meantime, you can go download the songs and the artwork for the first volume, and make your own CD today!!

MWS Media Radio Podcast (5/13/05)

MWS Media Radio
"Music from Buddy, Zearle, Jose Promis, and Childrens Day as your host discusses the latest changes and updates at MWS Media, including a plea for help from any SAM3/php/mysql experts out there!"

Tonight's playlist featured the following:

"Small Midwestern Town" (Moore/Rayburn) - Buddy

Buddy's song was recorded live on May 22, 2001 at Sacred Grounds in San Pedro, California. It was originally released on Sacred Sounds and eventually on Best Buddies Vol. 1 on Some Buddy Records. Thanks again, Matt! Download the show and find out more about MWS Media while you're there!

An opinion that counts...

I remember when rock was young...
Not many of you know her, but some of you may have tripped over her in a drunken stupor as you were leaving a club show. With any luck, you didn't damage her camera or put her in a mood to where she'd want to kick your ass for talking too loud during a set. I'm talking about none other than rock music lover, Suze Dodd.
This chick rocks! Most nights you can find her out on the town, soaking up some quality music, and snapping intimate photographs of on-stage shenanigans (she's also taken some great backstage shots of Iggy Pop and Nirvana hangin' out together). Other times you may see her in line at Amoeba with armfulls of CDs. All I can say is that this dame has the spirit.
An avid supporter of independent music, Suze has issued her list of top bands featured on MySpace.com. Surprisingly enough, my name showed up alongside a few of my personal favorites!
"21 BEST BANDS ON MYSPACE IN NO ORDER…Seriously, take a listen."
Flattered, I am. Yoda, I'm not. ;-) In any case, most of these artists (including myself) have streaming audio on their MySpace pages. Check `em out and come to your own conclusions. To learn more about Suze (and good music in general), I recommend you check out her music blog.
