#23 With A Bullet!

#23 with a bullet!
The climb to the top continues! "Phases And Changes" has claimed it's highest point yet on the GarageBand.com Folk Rock chart, coming in at #23 this morning! This ranking puts me in the top qualifying percentile which, if it holds, would allow me to advance to the second round of global competition. Wish me luck!

Dave goes Top 40

#37 with a bullet!
Small world we sing in. I recently signed up with GarageBand.com to further expand my efforts in the independent music community. GB is a pretty darn hip place! It's home to countless artists from all over the world, all looking to gain some sort of recognition for their craft. It's a great spot to hear truly independent music and to share your thoughts. You are also given the chance to share your music with the world and gain corrective criticism or honest praise. Well, that's what I did! I submitted "Phases And Changes" for review about a week ago, entering their Folk Rock music charts at #143. This morning I woke up to find that I shot up to #37 (in the world, mind you)! The funny thing (literally) is that I fall one spot behind my friend Chris Valenti, who appears at #36 with a song from his latest CD (reviewed here in November). Again... small world.

In addition to focusing more attention to GB contributions, the coming year looks to be somewhat promising in regards to my musical endeavors. More new songs will be written. More collaborations (including a Garage Salesmen reunion with Michael Moore). The web site will be re-dedicated, and become more of a comprehensive home for my music. There will be more intimate involvement with MWSMedia Radio podcasts. And most importantly, the long-awaited debut CD will be recorded and (hopefully) released. And, who knows... I may return to the performance stage if all feels right. 2005 will be a watershed point for Dave Rayburn. Mark my words, and stay tuned...
