Jesse Cripps, the brilliant guitarist who owns the single most unique laugh in music history turned 30 today! Jesse has been a major creative factor in the making of the current record project, and on top of that, he's a pure pleasure to hang out with. He's got some of the best stories in the biz, and he gets all the jokes. Many friends and family came out to Fullerton tonight to help him celebrate his 30th. I was honored to be one of them.

As the evening moved forward and a few more drinks were dispensed, the idea was laid out to put forth a performance for all the guests. Miguel hadn't yet arrived, so "Sugar" offered to fill in on sticks. And so, the masses filed out to the warehouse/studio for what turned out to be a rather fun two-song set. We were even joined by a mystery keyboardist (I'm told it was the bassist from John Frum). Thanks to all who joined in... and most importantly... HAPPY BIRTHDAY J-MAN!
